Keynote Speaker, 9:15-10:15am NESEA welcomes Marc Rosenbaum of Energysmiths to deliver the keynote speech "Deep Energy Retrofits: Less (Energy) is More (Better)." The global trends of constrained fossil fuel supplies, climate change, and a failed banking system all suggest that a significant reduction in the construction rate of new buildings may occur. Most of the buildings we'll be occupying in 2030 are here now. Deep Energy Retrofits of our homes, schools, and other essential buildings are possible and necessary. We'll look at examples of this emerging set of practices and discuss the implications for setting policy and creating meaningful, productive work opportunities. |
